The sound and the glow / Mayumi Hosokura

細倉真弓とSOLITAIREが12ヶ月間、毎月1つの印刷物を制作し発表するプロジェクト「12BOOKS（ジュウニブックス）」の12冊目（当初の予定より大幅に遅れての発刊となってしまいました。お待ちいただいていた皆さまには心よりお詫び申し上げます）。本書は65mm×103mm、12ページの冊子にカセットテープを付属した仕様となっています。カセットテープには2025年2月1日から23日までCOPYCENTER GALLERYにて開催された、細倉真弓個展「曖昧な決定、肉、光」で発表された映像作品に使用された音がA面、B面合わせて10分収録されています。これらの音は、細倉自身が制作したカメラのシャッター音を加工したもので、展示期間後にギャラリー内で映像を再生し、MATERIAL (mgmd a org.)がフィールドレコーディングしたものです。

「12BOOKS」は全13冊の制作を予定しており、最終巻となる第13号は、1年後の発刊を予定しています。

This is the twelfth book in the “12BOOKS” project, in which Mayumi Hosokura and SOLITAIRE will produce and present one printed book per month for 12 months.  (This issue has been significantly delayed from its original schedule. We sincerely apologize to everyone who has been waiting.)
This book is 65mm × 103mm, 12 pages, and comes with a 10-minute cassette tape. The tape contains 10 minutes of sound (Side A and B combined) used in the video work presented at Mayumi Hosokura’s solo exhibition Ambiguous Decision, Flesh, Light, held at COPYCENTER GALLERY from February 1 to 23, 2025. The sound was created by processing camera shutter noises made by Hosokura herself, and was later field-recorded by MATERIAL (mgmd a org.) in the gallery space while replaying the video after the exhibition period.

“12BOOKS” is planned as a 13-volume series, with the final issue, No.13, scheduled for release one year from now.
